Actor-turned-politician and JanaSena Party (JSP) chief in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, has witnessed a significant increase in his assets over the past five years, marking a staggering 191 percent growth, according to his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.

The 52-year-old leader is a candidate of the JSP-BJP-TDP alliance for the Pithapuram Assembly constituency in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.

Pawan, along with his wife and four dependents, has assets valued at Rs 163 crore. In 2019, his assets were reported at Rs 56 crore, indicating a remarkable rise in wealth over the intervening period.

His movable assets amount to Rs 46 crore, including significant sums in deposits, as well as a notable collection of cars and bikes valued at Rs 14 crore.

Among his prized possessions are a Harley Davidson bike, Benz Maybach, Range Rover Sport worth Rs 5.4 crore, and a Toyota Cruiser worth Rs 2.3 crore.

Additionally, he and his family hold immovable assets worth Rs 118 crore, primarily comprising lands and buildings in Janwada, Managalgiri, and Jubilee Hills.

The financial records also reveal fluctuations in Pawan's income over the years, with a reported loss of Rs 1.1 crore in 2018-19, contrasted by an income of Rs 12.2 crore in 2022-23.

Further, he has declared liabilities amounting to Rs 65 crore.

Kalyan, who holds a 10th-grade education, faces legal challenges, with eight criminal cases, predominantly related to provocative speeches.

The actor-politician filed his nomination for the assembly polls on Tuesday.
